Privacy Policy
Genoworks ("we," "us," or "our") operates Illustrated Page ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
1.Information We Collect
Account identity.
When you sign in via an OAuth provider, we receive a unique identifier, email address, and profile picture from that provider and store them to operate your account. When you sign up with email and password, we store your email address directly.
Uploaded content.
We store the ebook files you upload and the illustrations generated for your reading sessions. These are stored in your personal account and are not shared with other users.
Reading activity.
We record your reading position and illustration history within the Service to sync your progress across sessions.
Billing information.
Payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a subscription status and a Stripe customer ID but do not store your card number or full payment details.
Usage data.
We collect basic server logs (request timestamps, error traces) to operate and improve the Service. We use Sentry for error monitoring; error reports may include partial request context but not the content of your books.
Transactional email.
If you sign up with email and password, we send verification and password-reset emails to the address you provide. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
Feedback reports.
When you submit a feedback report through the Service, we collect the message you write, the URL of the page you were viewing, and — if you opt in — a screenshot of that page captured in your browser. Screenshots are captured locally and sent only when you choose to include them. Feedback data is used solely to investigate and respond to your report and is not shared with third parties.
2.How We Use Your Information
To authenticate you and operate your account.
To process payments and manage your subscription.
To diagnose errors and improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising purposes.
3.How We Share Your Information
We share data with third parties only as necessary to operate the Service:
AWS — cloud hosting, file storage, and database.
Stripe — payment processing.
Sentry — error monitoring.
AI providers — text excerpts from your book are sent to AI model APIs to generate illustrations. These providers process data under their own privacy policies.
OAuth providers — used to authenticate your sign-in.
We do not share your data with any other third parties without your consent, except where required by law.
4.Data Retention
Your account data, uploaded ebooks, and generated illustrations are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.
Server logs and error reports are retained for up to 90 days.
5.Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and access controls limiting who can reach your data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6.Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data (right to erasure).
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Data portability (receiving your data in a machine-readable format).

7.Cookies and Tracking
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels. No personal data is shared with ad networks.
8.Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9.International Transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States, subject to applicable data protection laws.
10.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the Service. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
